What is the Purple Tree PT2 Emergency Messaging System?
The Purple Tree Messaging System is an wireless emergency messaging system that delivers instantaneous messaging. It is a complete solution that includes the entire infrastructure for sending and displaying messaging.
How does this system work?
The PT2 system consists of a secure messaging workstation, and the infrastructure to broadcast and deliver messaging throughout your facility.
How are messages displayed?
Depending on your needs, a wide range of display options can be implemented. Our current options include a standard POD desktop or wall mounted receiver and display screen. In addition, we offer Purple Tree’s Proprietary eFob™, a keychain sized display device as well as support for ticker displays.
How fast are messages delivered?
The Purple Tree PT2 System delivers messaging instantly. At most, a delay of a few seconds may occur when receiving units on the perimeter of the covered area are being targeted.
How can you be sure that it will work for me?
Every customer has a different need and budget. Purple Tree does not employ a one-size fits all approach, but instead customizes a solution to target the customer. With our expertise in messaging technology, we can analyze and recommend the right solution for your organization. Best of all, the system can be expanded to grow and change as your organization does.
How is the system installed?
Our solution includes a custom, onsite installation by our trained engineering experts with the assistance of onsite maintenance and/or contractors that ensure the system is operational and reliable.
Does this system require customers or employees to sign-up?
Because our solution is focused on delivering critical messaging where it is most important, people don’t need to share their personal information in order to get messaging.
Do I need a special computer, network or dedicated phone line?
The PT2 solution includes a messaging workstation along with all of the pieces that are required to create, store, and broadcast messaging. As a result, network connectivity and phone access is not required. This ensures that the messaging system is reliable, and not dependent on any third part infrastructure.
Is my customer or employee’s information stored on one of your servers?
Unlike other solutions, the Purple Tree PT2 solution does not rely on previously provided user information in order to send messages. This allows for messaging to be targeted to the areas in which the event is taking place instead of a cell phone or email address that may or may not be current, or not provided at all. It also means that employee, student, or customer data isn’t being warehoused and stored where it is potentially vulnerable to malicious activity.
What if we lose internet connectivity during an emergency?
Our system does not rely on internet connectivity, remote servers, or other outside dependencies. It is a secure, controlled, and closed system.
What if we lose cellular or phone connectivity during an emergency?
Our system does not rely on cell phone carriers or traditional phone systems to deliver messages. It is a secure, controlled, and closed system.
What if there is a power outage during an emergency?
Emergency situations frequently include a loss of power. As a result, the PT2 System includes battery backup for the entire broadcasting infrastructure.
