The PT2 Messaging System is a targeted wireless messaging solution perfect for colleges, malls, outdoor events, public schools, corporate campuses and many other organizations. Messages are targeted, and delivered within seconds. The system includes all infrastructure needed, and does not depend on ouside infrastructure such as phone lines, cellular access, or internet access.
The PT2 Messaging System is able to send mass notifications in the event of emergencies such as natural disasters, severe weather, amber alerts, or terrorist activity. The August 2008 ammendment to the Clery Act mandates mass notification capabilities for colleges and universities. Purple Tree Public Mass Notification - The Public Sector Solution
Purple Tree has recently been granted a patent for an innovative new solution for the problem of notifying large populations of emergency events such as natural disasters, weather alerts, or terrorist activities.
By utilizing a little known feature in cellular networks known as Cell Broadcast, the Purple Tree system will pull in alerts from public agencies such as NOAA, NWS, and Homeland Security, and disseminate the alerts to any individual in the targeted area with a compatible cellphone.
The alert will appear on the cellphone or compatible eFob as a text message, but does not utilize standard SMS Text Messaging channels in the cellular network which are prone to delays under heavy usage.
